Horizon Neuropsychological Services, LLC conducts neuropsychological evaluations for children, teens, adults, and geriatrics. Results provide diagnostic clarification and inform treatment planning.
More specifically, our doctors evaluate those with: Neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., Autism, ADHD, tic disorders, and learning disabilities), neurocognitive disorders (e.g., traumatic brain injury, cognitive decline secondary to a medical condition), psychiatric conditions (e.g., anxiety, depression, OCD, psychosis, behavioral difficulties, trauma, and maladaptive family dynamics), and any challenges involving cultural, religious, gender, or sexual identity (e.g., gender dysphoria, difficulty with peer/family integration and acceptance, etc.). Within the context of testing data and diagnosis, our doctors then show how patient’s can build upon their strengths and work around their weaknesses to be the best version of themselves in life. Horizon Neuropsychological Services, LLC conducts evaluations for individuals across the lifespan. A neuropsychological evaluation can:


Assess one’s ability to return to work following a medical or psychological incident.
Work



Evaluate one’s capacity to function independently, as well as provide residential, educational,
and vocational options.
Opportunities



Inform treatment planning or therapeutic interventions most appropriate for an individual.
Management



Help parents know more about themselves so they can better understand how to help their children, particularly when there is a shared diagnosis.



Assist individuals in determining their strengths and weaknesses in order to reach their optimal potential.
Performance



Track neuropsychological progress of individuals before and after surgery (e.g., deep brain stimulation, callosectomy, or resection to improve a seizure disorder) or other types of treatments (e.g., chemotherapy, long-term steroid use, ECT)



Identify the type and course of any cognitive and/or behavioral changes, including those that may be caused by memory or movement disorders, TBI, stroke, injury, or illness.



Determine rehabilitation potential, or a projection about the future status of a patient based on present observable behaviors.




In cases of gender dysphoria, neuropsychologists can determine neurocognitive and psychiatric soundness to help determine gender reassignment surgical candidacy.
